And still, several months later, the NPC continues to draw speakers and, more worryingly, the apparent approval of the Australian media, the latest inappropriate speaker being the Israeli ambassador. And from what I can see, nothing has changed with respect to NPC's funding.

I read a comment below an article by Alex McKinnon https://www.deepcutnews.com/p/national-press-club-under-fire-for/comments on the ambassador's speech published on 1 April 2026 asking what planet and century the reader thought they were in. I am beginning to wonder something similar: what planet are we all on, that we continue to accept this kind of behaviour, what century do we live in when we shrug it off and keep making money for the billionaires of the world?

Ms Fahy, with respect, it seems you are pretty biased on this one. The Press Club is an institution, yes, but can only continue to survive with the support of corporate donors. I would ask you - how many addresses have occurred where corporate sponsors have attended and these companies are not in attendance? A mere table number marker isn’t exactly a huge advertisement for a defence company. I would also like to ask: how many addresses have you attended in person? Have you seen the press interact at these events with the mentioned attendees? I would argue that you both haven’t seen it and are assessing your view off a camera, as well as casting aspersions on all involved to suit your agenda.
